Ahhh yes, back in the saddle! It's been so long and I miss it. Horseback riding is such a unique experience, and the best kind is when you get to take that dear creature out into a field and let 'er go! We got to do that tonight, prior to a horse auction tomorrow the owners let you come and test the goods out. I got to go with my sister in law's family and it was such a neat experience. I tried out two horses, the first one was kind of boring, he was 'well broke' for darn sure but not a lot of interest or get up and go. And then I got to try Strawberry, who was such a star. I loved loping through the fields with her, dodging gopher holes and trying to get my seat back. It's amazing how quickly your muscle memory returns, and how quickly it leaves! My bum will be sore tomorrow!
Here is me on Strawberry:
Juuuuuuust kidding!
Not so much even close, but a gal can dream.... when do we go again!

Cabinet Makeover
Yay, another project complete and I'm actually proud of this one (unlike the painted wine bottles that wouldn't dry and the paint just ran and ran and now we have to take them to the bottle depot looking like a sad and sorry craft gone wrong...) Some things didn't work out perfect, but all in all a good project :)
So hubbers drags home an old file cabinet from work the other day and he says "it was free" and I'm like "how does that justify us needing a filing cabinet" (i'm not normally so totally right). But then I started googling file cabinet makeovers and I loved what I saw! Especially here and here.
Headed to Home Depot and bought me some metal spray paint, taped up the hardware, sanded the old finish a bit and began spraying.
Definitely note that you must wear a mask (or face bandana) as you spray or you will be blowing spray paint out of your nose for a day.
Also, ventilation is ideal. just saying.
I spray painted in the garage when it was still cold out and I think in some places the paint actually froze because it looks kinda crackly, but like I said - not perfect.
The drawers were the best part, I then took a sharpie and began writing inspirational quotes, bible verses, and an excerpt from Pride & Prejudice. Best ever. I like how you can't really read it unless you really try.
Too bad I don't have before pics! Just picture the ugly tan filing cabinets from days of yore....
