Farmer's Market

The local greenhouse hosts a Farmer's Market every Wednesday (indoors in the winter) so we headed there one evening and checked it out. I wasn't thrilled, but mainly because Hubbers was appalled at the prices and frowned upon me getting anything, so then i frowned upon him. Lesson learned, next time I hit up the Farmer's Market alone!

Taking a break - being a Scrooge is exhausting

I love the frame within a frame concept

Friendster 2014

Because Friendsgiving 2013 was such a smash hit we had to try a Friends Easter gathering.  It was a really good time (even for my grumpy self) and always wonderful to have our peeps around us. Everyone brought a potluck dish and we chatted our way through the day and finished the evening watching silly youtube videos. Also I had a blast decorating with my dollarama finds

Until next year...

Holy cow, the little nuggets are three years old already! Ahhhh, time has never gone so fast as when you watch someone else grow up. Here come a million photos of their pool party birthday:

Our library is beautiful.
Recently built, full of light and tiny corners to snuggle up with books. It's really a nerdy paradise. I met up with J-sis there for a book club discussion on "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" which was spectacular. It covered a small island during WWII and how they connected over books and shared in each other's lives. Of course incredibly sad, but also with tons of hope.  It was written entirely in the form of letters back and forth between people and was so interesting and easy to gobble up.  We both loved it.

Also, how interesting that it was written by two different people  - how on earth did they manage that!

Philosophy and Sherbert

March 16, 2014

Hubbers got me a beautiful orchid for Valentine's Day... I believe I pictured it earlier on here...  anyways, I was sitting one night staring at these beautiful petals and looking at these blossoms about to unfold and I felt like we are all waiting on the cusp of something beautiful. It was a moment for me, so I drew on the chalkboard:

Then I made a freaking delicious homemade sherbert with mango and ginger and bananas... spun off of an internet sorbet recipe that I can no longer find :(

Hooray for days filled of hope and sorbet!

Montana

March 7-12, 2014

What a wonderful trip - it's becoming an annual thing for us to head to Montana for one last winter hurrah! Snowboarding, eating, drinking, hot-tubbing, sleeping, driving, etc. all with a parcel of pals makes for a very interactive and exhaustively wonderful five days.

We drove up on a Thursday evening to stay with Hubber's parents in their house (all ten of us - how generous!) and then carried on our journey across the border from there the next day.  It's about a 8 hour drive all told but wasn't too bad. Our first stop in America was the liquor store as it is cheaper than water there!  Seriously, it's good we don't live in the States or I can imagine liver issues developing.  In the end we took most of our booze back with us so we didn't go crazy this time.

We arrived at our run-down wonderful abode with the crickety spiral stairs that evening and went out to eat at 'Famous Dave's' where the barbeque is fit for kings.

We then spent the next three-four days snowboarding. I was able to last three full days snowboarding before my body gave up and I had to spend the fourth day in bed, but it made for a relaxing day and the snow was intense!  Evenings were spent barbecuing and hot-tubbing or watching TV.

On our last night we went out to eat at the 'Haskill Grill' in Whitefish (fabulous meal, venue, service, 10 out of 10!) Such a wonderful time...

Can't wait for next year!
